About Me

  • GENDER: Female (She/her/hers)
  • LANGUAGE: English

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker committed to working with individuals in therapy to identify and work towards reaching their varied goals in life. I have a continued passion for working with youth, adolescents and their families as well as young adults. Whether it's developing personal goals, exploring core identities, managing difficult emotions, establishing safety, learning and practicing healthy skills, strengthening relationships, processing the complexities of trauma, or beyond, it's worth it because you already are. Utilizing a client-centered approach, I will typically incorporate a number of modalities in sessions, striving to more accurately reflect individual client needs and promote continuous growth & healing.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of Utah. I received my Master of Social Work, Forensic focus, from the University of Utah as well. I first trained at a hospital in Bountiful, UT within the adult psychiatric in-patient unit. After that, I went on to gain invaluable experience working with systems involved youth and Juvenile Public Defenders in Salt Lake City, Utah. I worked as a residential youth and family therapist where I completed my full license and then remained to practice until eventually moving back here to Iowa!

I strive to live by the famous quote, "Each of us is more than the worst thing we’ve ever done." I believe you are never too far to invest in yourself and it’s never too late to realize. I value meeting people where they are at, wherever that may be, and find this to be a powerful lens both inside and outside of the therapy room. With a macro lens background, I am a therapist that can acknowledge the additional impact systems have on the lives of my clients and our communities. It’s an honor and a privilege to work with my clients and I’m proud to sit alongside them as they navigate the world that we all share. My additional joys in life include distance running, reading, watching movies, eating popcorn, sour candy and drinking plenty of coffee. I'm energized by the idea that we never stop learning. I derive a lot of joy in life by spending time with my two big rescue dogs and my partner, as well as my whole big family.
