About Me

  • GENDER: Male (He/him/his)
  • LANGUAGE: English

As a student therapist, my therapeutic approach is actively developing as I integrate coursework with clinical experience. I’m currently drawn to Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and person-centered approaches, which emphasize psychological flexibility, present-moment awareness, and unconditional positive regard. I strive to support clients in navigating identity, emotional expression, and performance-related challenges. I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative process, working together toward the goals each client identifies for their life.

I will be receiving my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Drake University in the Spring of 2026 after having spent the past 18 years in the strength & conditioning field. I spent almost a decade as the director of strength & conditioning at the school while also actively competing in the sport of Olympic-style weightlifting. After retiring from competition, I decided to start my own coaching business, where I have trained weightlifters of all levels to achieve competitive success locally, nationally, and internationally. Throughout both my competitive and coaching careers, I have noticed a lack of resources for therapeutic services targeting athletes, which is why I have decided to pursue this path.

I am always humbled when someone chooses to work with me. I will always do my best to provide a space where each person feels safe and welcome to discuss vulnerable topics, knowing they don't have to face these challenges alone.
