About Me

  • GENDER: Female (She/her/hers)
  • LANGUAGE: English

I am fascinated by stories. I love learning about people's lives, what gives them meaning and what enables them to persevere through challenging times. As a psychotherapist and spiritual companion, I want to help people identify and grieve their losses and challenges, renew their sense of meaning, hope, and possibility, and reconnect to their innate wholeness. I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in Iowa and Maine. I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, chronic illness, the many different aspects of grief and loss, spiritual concerns and LGBTQ+ issues. I am an experienced Jewish spiritual companion and offer individual and group spiritual companionship to people from all religions and spiritual traditions as well as those with none. I work part-time at Mind and Spirit Counseling Center, offering my services via telehealth only from Portland, Maine.

I received my MSW from the University of Iowa, my PhD in Sociology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and my Doctor of Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation. I am a graduate of the Lev Shomea Training Program for Spiritual Direction in the Jewish Tradition. I have worked in hospitals, community mental health, private practice and have taught in graduate and undergraduate social work programs.

I am a writer and lover of words, an avid reader, a (very) amateur photographer, and a person who is always trying to wake up and respond to the beauty and suffering of our world. I am very interested in spirituality and the ways we find meaning, purpose, and beauty in life.
