About Me

  • GENDER: Female (She/her/hers)
  • LANGUAGE: English

I strive to approach the therapy process in a collaborative and integrative way with each child, family, or individual looking for support. I believe in honoring the lived experience of each person I meet with and aim to integrate my knowledge and expertise to help them move towards their identified goals and needs. As a psychology postdoctoral fellow, I am primarily working with children while also seeing some individual adults and families. I am able to provide a range of therapy approaches, including child-centered play therapy, emotion-focused family therapy, interpersonal processing therapy (adults), and specialized services including parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) and anxiety-focused treatment using CBT and exposure and response prevention. Throughout all of this, I remain grounded in a person-centered approach to care.

I completed my undergraduate and graduate training at Iowa State University. I have received a Masters of Science as part of the counseling psychology program and will soon be graduating with my Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD), marking the completion of my degree. As part of this process, last year I completed my internship training at Family Service & Guidance Center in Topeka, KS. There I was provided training in CBT, ER/P, various approaches to play therapy, group therapy services for children, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with various school and medical treatment team members. Often I worked with children with a trauma history who also were seeking support regarding presenting concerns such as ADHD, ASD, various forms of anxiety, PTSD, and disruptions in the family unit.

Joys in my life include spending time with my partner and our two giant dogs (Sophie and Leo), hiking/camping, learning new things, and various forms of art (most recently I have been trying to learn watercolor).
