About Me

  • GENDER: Male (He/him/his)
  • LANGUAGE: English, Spanish

I am a bicultural and bilingual (Spanish/English) licensed mental health counselor specializing in trauma and couples therapy. I work with young adults, adults and couples experiencing anxiety, depression and other symptoms due to trauma and relational issues. My treatment approach is based on effective therapies that help clients' needs for healing and growth. I aim to create a safe and positive therapeutic relationship with the person.

I hold a BA in Theology from the Pontificia Studiorum Universitas Salesiana of Rome and obtained an MA in Spanish and an MS in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce. I am working towards my certification as an EMDR therapist. My background is in ministry as a catholic priest, and I was spiritual director for Mount Angel Seminary (Oregon) and Saint John's Seminary (California) for seven years. I am passionate about helping people to heal, grow and find meaning in their lives. Also, I was working in the education field as a teacher and school counselor. My clinical experience started more than four years ago at Mosaic Family Counseling Center where I learned about EMDR therapy. I came to the Mind and Spirit Counseling Center because of the integration of psychotherapy with spirituality.

I love to hear and understand people's stories. I believe we are called to live the best possible life we can. Sometimes it is hard to find the path to hope and healing, but it is not impossible when we are open to new opportunities and possibilities. Every day is a call to continue fighting. "Never give up!" I am grateful for the times when I see healing, growing, and a new understanding of the meaning of life happening in the people I have the privilege to walk with. I love to serve! It is the meaning of my life!
