About Me

  • GENDER: Female (She/her/hers)
  • LANGUAGE: English, Mandarin

I am a student counselor who provides therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. I am strongly interested in working with people experiencing stress, acculturative stress, identity issues, career choices, and other important life transitions. I utilize a person-centered approach while integrating mindfulness into my therapy. I value looking into situations through a multicultural lens and discovering how one's identity and environment impact one's life experience. My goal is to provide a safe space for clients to discover their authentic selves and work together to find ways that they can thrive and truly enjoy the present.

I am currently in my master's program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Drake University. I have completed all coursework and am working toward graduation as a student intern at the Center. Before pursuing the counseling program, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Child, Adult, and Family Services at Iowa State University. During my undergraduate years, I worked in various mental health clinical settings with people from all age groups and discovered the increasing need for mental health supporters in our community.

I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a part of people's healing journey. I believe we all are equipped with strengths and uniqueness to navigate our lives successfully. I am committed to helping people to freely express and explore themselves with a listening ear and unconditional acceptance. My favorite things to do are spending quality time with my family, traveling, and getting to know people from different cultures and listening to their stories!
