Mindfulness for Ministers: A Class for Clergy
PROGRAM | This eight-week class will help clergy (certified, licensed, ordained, etc.) focus on developing a practice of mindfulness meditation with two benefits: (1) integrating such a practice into one’s current spiritual faith and disciplines; and (2) appreciating the challenges that are associated with ministry in a safe and ecumenical environment. Mindfulness is about cultivating the skills to pay better attention and deepen greater awareness – on purpose, in the present moment, and without judgment. Such a practice can enhance one’s spiritual connections with the Holy Other and with those in community as well as promote a minister’s capacity to be the self-differentiated, nonanxious presence as a servant-leader. |
