I am a post-Doctoral psychologist working to become fully licensed in the state of Iowa. I am also a care minister for Cedar Hills Community Church in Cedar Rapids. I received my BA in Psychology from Lakeland College, an MA in Counseling, and an EdD in Counseling Psychology from Northern Arizona University. I work with adults on a wide variety of issues: ADHD, anxiety, crisis and suicidal ideation, transitions, and adjustments, calling and vocation and spiritual concerns. My Theoretical approaches include narrative, meaning-making, career and mindfulness therapies

I have a background teaching at the collegiate level, working with people in crisis, advising and career counseling and working with spiritual concerns. I have taught psychology as a fulltime instructor at Upper Iowa University. I have been an adjunct instructor online at University of the Cumberlands and in person at Kirkwood Community College and Northwest Iowa Community College. I have worked as an academic advisor and career counselor in higher education. I also have experience as a mobile crisis counselor.

I love to make personal connections with people. I desire to walk along with people in their stories. I like to help people make personal meaning from their experiences. I believe that play and playfulness are virtues that help people operate at higher levels. I am a strong believer in family and community. I have been married for 35 years, and we have four grown children and one grandchild with more on the way. I personally enjoy adventures with my family, hiking, lifting weights, travel and reading.
