Psychotherapist, Spiritual Director

About Me

  • GENDER: Female (She/her/hers)
  • LANGUAGE: English

As a psychotherapist and spiritual companion, my focus is on helping people reconnect to their innate wholeness and renew their sense of hope and possibility. I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, chronic illness, grief and loss and LGBTQ+ concerns. I am also an experienced Jewish spiritual director and offer individual and group spiritual companionship to people from all religions and spiritual traditions as well as those with none. I work part-time at Mind & Spirit Counseling Center

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and spiritual director. I received my MSW. from the University of Iowa, my PhD in Sociology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and my DMin from the Graduate Theological Foundation. I am a graduate of the Lev Shomea Training Program for Spiritual Direction in the Jewish Tradition. I have over 40 years of experience in hospitals, community mental health and private practice. I also have more than 20 years of teaching experience in graduate and undergraduate social work programs in Buffalo, New York and Portland, Maine.

I am fascinated by stories. I love learning about people's lives, what gives them meaning and what enables them to persevere through challenging times. I am a writer and lover of words, an avid reader, a (very) amateur photographer, and a person who is always trying to wake up and respond to the beauty and suffering of our world. I am very interested in spirituality, especially Jewish spirituality, and enjoy teaching in the Adult Education program at my synagogue.
