Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Spiritual Director

About Me

  • GENDER: Female (She/her/hers)
  • LANGUAGE: English

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and spiritual director. As a therapist, I work with adults to address a variety of concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, faith and spirituality, life transitions and relationships. As a spiritual director, I offer space and support in opening to and exploring sacred dimensions in life. I seek to operate as a trauma-informed and LGBTQIA+-affirming therapist and strive to honor the whole person in my work. I am grounded in humanistic-existential psychotherapy but integrate mindfulness, self-compassion, somatic/body-based and cognitive-behavioral approaches to support clients in reaching their goals. I am trained to provide EMDR therapy.

Prior to beginning work in the mental health field, I served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church. I came to the Center as an intern through my master's program at Drake University. I gratefully accepted a position at the Center following my graduation in 2016. In addition to my work with individuals, I have facilitated ethics and boundary trainings for clergy, provided educational programming related to mental health and facilitated a support group for survivors of suicide loss. I also serve as co-director for PrairieFire, a two-year spiritual formation program, and the third-year PrairieFire practicum, which provides training for spiritual directors.

I love hearing the unique stories of others and am grateful for the privilege of supporting and witnessing movement toward well-being and wholeness through my work. As I'm present with others, I try to be present with compassion and non-judgment, hope and respect. Outside of work, I enjoy reading historical fiction, going to movies, listening to live music and camping with my family.
