About Me
- GENDER: Female
- LANGUAGE: English
As a Licensed Independent Social Worker, I work with kids and families primarily serving teens and adults. I use a variety of strategies in therapy to have an individualized approach for each person. I focus on building strengths within themselves while exploring and improving overall emotional regulation, relationships with others, and decision making skills. With a foundation in cognitive behavioral treatment, I use a reality based approach and try to find humor and balance in the experiences we have in this life.
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with my Bachelor's in Psychology. From there, I spent over 20-years working in a residential program serving kids in the child welfare and juvenile justice system. I started off as a direct care worker and became a counselor. I then went back to get my Master's in Social Work from the University of Iowa and became a therapist. I eventually became part of the administrative team helping set the clinical philosophy of the agency and developing new programs and curriculum for the kids we served.
Outside of work, you can find me at either a football field, softball field, or basketball court cheering on my two kids. I find incredible joy watching and cheering them on in all the activities they do and spending time with family. I believe in keeping it real and helping people find their passion in life. We have to find balance in our worlds and I am here to help!
