About Me

  • GENDER: Female (She/her/hers)
  • LANGUAGE: English

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Social Worker, I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide range of life’s challenges. I believe it is a privilege to support people during difficult times and to help them move toward meaningful, positive change. My approach is strengths-based, empowering, and collaborative, with a focus on building healthier relationships and helping clients manage complex emotional and relational concerns. I strive to create a supportive and engaging therapeutic environment and believe that a little humor, when appropriate, can be a valuable part of the healing process. I utilize evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral, and trauma-informed therapy models tailored to each client’s goals. I particularly enjoy working with couples of all kinds to help them strengthen their relationships, as well as supporting women as they navigate life’s many transitions and challenges.

I have been practicing as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1998 and as a Social Work educator since 2001. I earned my PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University, a Master of Family Studies from Iowa State University, and a Master of Social Work from St. Ambrose University. In addition to private practice, I spent over 25 years working in higher education as a University Dean and Social Work Professor. These combined clinical and academic experiences have given me a broad perspective and have kept me current on emerging research, treatment approaches, and the evolving issues individuals, couples, and families face today. I consider it an honor to walk alongside clients as they learn new ways to build the lives they want and to engage differently—and more effectively—in their relationships.

I particularly enjoy working with all types of couples in order to help them achieve the relationships they desire. Additionally, I enjoy working with women around all that life throws at us in order to facilitate their empowerment as well.
